I have a pool of RMI servers that the clients rotate through to achieve a
simple from of balancing.

Each server can send transactions to other servers.

That's one reason I want to use EJB.

Right, but I want to use multiple tools depending on the job. I don't want
to force my customers to use a power circular saw if all they need is a
handsaw (and vice versa). Why is there such resistance to designing a
system that can run in both plain RMI and more advanced EJB? Geeesshh!
