Maybe I'm missing something, but to me it seems like IIOP, only with a
more verbose format. The HTTP-tunneling property is good though.

Is there any particular context you're wondering about SOAP? If we're
talking about server-interop I say forget it. Since a bean can only be
deployed with one wire protocol, you wouldn't wan't to use something as
verbose as SOAP to talk to it.
