one thing everyone seems to forget that you have to pay for MS Windows
and that you have to pay for the additional functionality.

Remember when IIS first came out and the furor that happened when  MS restricted
it to only NTServer?  Then O'Reilly proved that NTW and NTS were just the same
server code?

I am not saying that the same thing applies to W2K but you cannot assume that
all the COM+ features will be available for free on every version of W2K.
