I have the some comments to make about this very
distrubing thread.

1. William has been come under alot of fire for his
emails and yet nobody has refuted his claims. The
current issue of software development magazine seems
to agree with William in that IAS is better than Web
Logic. It would appear that they agree with William on
the user interface front also.

If you're looking for wizards and GUIs, you had best
look elsewhere.

William, all is forgiven, come back. Please ignore the
*plonker*.

2. The dicussion of RMI-IIOP support has gone off the
track somewhat. The first post has not been answered.
In fact it has been ignored by people who claimed that
others are doing the same. Does the current J2EE/EJB
1.1 specification not state that RMI-IIOP is
mandatory. So getting back to the original post why
has Web Logic and others not implementated this
standard completely. I think they have spread lies and
not Inprise. Guys do not put on your box "ejb 1.1
compliant" when it ain't so. What troubles me more is
that they have signed off the specification and now
BEA and others want to change things in mid stream.
The new approach is interesting and should be
evaluated but please, lets stick to what we agreed on
for the time being. EJB 2.0 is so long away that it
seems irrelevant for most people on this list. One
problem though with this proposed new implementation
is that we might be closing some doors, are we willing
to take that chance.

I hope I have brought new light to this discussion and
woke up some people about what this is all about. I
await the hate mail.

Robert.

His promises were, as he then was, mighty;
But his performance, as he is now, nothing.
