Hi
I think there should not be any problem for the Applet to communicate to the
host from which it came --- through any protocol/port as long as it is
inside the firewall. When the Applet is outside the firewall --- then it
depends on the firewall of both the client and the server to allow a
particular protocol/port -- generally only HTTP/80/8080 is allowed. So that
time this look up may not work and hence people will go for servlets ie
Applet communicates to the servlets and the servlet acs as a gateway to the
EJB components.

Subject: Re: Applet -- EJB communication
Hi,
I have a doubt here. Can an applet directly lookup for a EJB using non-http
protocol and listenring on not 80 or 8080 port??
Can some body throw light on this??
