Depends on what u r doing if it is the intranet and assuming your network
has no firewalls b/n the clent and the server there shouldnt
be a problem. U can use whatever port/protocol u need and the vendor
provides. If u r on the internet u might have to stick with the defaults
because I havent come across network administrator who will open up other
ports. Probably a better solution is to talk a servlet.
