As u trying to connect with the Remote Database server. U must have type 4
driver.If u are using default driver of weblogic (OCI) it does not work..
If u are using type 4 driver of oracle then let me know....

I am unable to connect to oracle 8 with weblogic 5.1 thru
editing weblogic.properties file in my local machine. I have mentioned my
userid and pwd correcly and also the server name as the host name generated
thru oracle8 net config. but i am able to connect to the other machine by
giving its' ip address. pls help me out immediately.
