I'm not sure I understand your concern. Why should you care about these
implementation details as long as the container you use is compliant with the
EJB specification?

On the other hand, you should be aware of the trade-offs involved with the
different isolation levels, the type of locking the container uses
(pessismistic/optimistic), etc...

These factors will impact your design.
