While I agree with all the points you make about the danger there is in a bean
doing I/O (especially in clusters), I still have a little spark deep down
inside my stomach that whispers "leave it up to the developer".
In a nutshell, the idea is: make the spirit of the EJB spec clear to bean
providers (and you certainly did a good job at that) *but* give them all
freedom to go to the metal if they so desire.
