EJB is a platform for component software. While there are many definitions
of the term, "component," a common thread among them is that components
publish their interfaces in a central repository and that invocations of
the methods of those interfaces are intercepted by the repository which
adds provides commonplace, infrastructural services at the point of
interception. Those services include object lifetime management, security
and transaction management. The repository provides for the configuration
of those services declaratively rather than programmatically. With
component-based software, one is generally reaping significant reuse (of
the services provided by the component repository) at the expense of some
performance.

If I want to persuade my boss to move from JSP to EJB, what would be the
compelling reason to do so?
