Hi All,
I'm planning to use a caching service in our application.
Selective caching of data would really enhance the performance of our
application right now. I was wondering if there are any good products out
there I can use, instead of building one myself. I'm looking for something
very simple, that would help me store some static data, keep its data
synchronized and allow fast retrieval. It need'nt be cluster aware, but it
will be nice, if it can be extended someday to be cluster aware, have
parallel concurrency and all that.
I would be much inclined to use an open source product than any
one of those fancy commercial ones. If there are any good frameworks
available to implement my own caching service, that will be great too. In
essence, I'm looking for a product/framework thats simple, straightforward
and addresses only to the issue of caching. I'm not interested in any
functionally over-bloated caching service, addressing other issues like
persistence, event notification and others.
I would also like to hear your experiences on effective use of a
caching mechanism in an app. Looking forward for your guidances.
Regards,
Winston
