I think that JavaSpaces is the best fit for this purpose.

We had developed something similar for sharing client session between
multiple servers.
You can find more details about it in the following url:
http://www.gigaspaces.com/docs/experimental/docs/GigaSpaces-extensions.htm#_
Session_Space

In your case I think that a space provide a very effective solution since it
can store its information in memory ( or in db dependent on the space
configuration ).
Clients can access the space and retrieve this information from anywhere.
The space unlike a db does not require to know in advance the information it
stores and the object level api abstract the access to the undeling
persistent mechanism ( if a persitent pace is used ).

Your scenario would simply look as simple as this.

Client A: space.write( Object( ) , transaction ( can be null ) , lease ( the
amount of time this iformation would be stored within the space ) );
Clinet B: space.take( Template( A template is a filter object used to
identify which entry it needs ) , transaction , timeout ).

You can find more information on this technology on www.sun.com/jini and on
our web site www.gigaspaces.com

How to share a data between clients using EJB's? Say every time clients
access SLSB counter increased by 1. Where can I store this counter?

Thanks,
