No.

EJB 2.0 servers are required to provide support for RMI-IIOP, but
they may support other protocols as well. RMI-IIOP does not have to
be the 'default' protocol either (if that term even means anything).

Yes, the first product that supported EJB (version 0.4) was Sybase
EAServer - this product (originally named Jaguar CTS) shipped in
