Also: cannot any longer open add/remove packages I get an error message
Failed to check for installed and available applications
This is a major failure of your software management system. Please check
for broken packages with synaptic, check the file permissions and
correctness of the file '/etc/apt/sources.list' and reload the software
information with: 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get install -f'.
I gusee this is all a part of the problem with software sources??

Ok, I went to svn snapshots and got the keys installed. In
repositories I put in deb
http://snapshots.ekiga.net/snapshots/ubuntu/hardy main . (Hope I have
this all spelled right here) In synaptic package manager i'm getting
an error message as below most of which I don't understand.
E: Malformed line 69 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
I have checked my dialog input several times and can find no error??
How do I find line 69 I have counted every way I can think of but
can't figure this out.

Yes my account is on ekiga net. Below is the result of ekig -d 4
entry in teminal.
Opened terminal typed in Ekiga -d 4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$
ekiga -d 4
The -d 4 is incomplete. On Ubuntu you need to install a specific package
(I don't remember its name, but there is -trace in it, so either
libopal-trace or libpt-trace or something like that).
