Went into the configuration assistant on the sumary page at the end it
says sip: none. I then went to preferences and put in my sip as it
appears on line in ekiga adress book. Configration summary page still
says sip. none. Any Ideas on this anyone.

I presume you have a copy of the original sources.list

If so use it, fix these problems and come back. I suggest - before
you come back - you re-read what Damien said about debug.
