Thank you for responding, but your statement that it is impossible that the 
Ekiga uninstall deleted my files is preposterous. It did it right in front of 
my eyes.

If you don't believe me, please download Ekiga for Win XP and let it install in 
your computer's My Documents, and then uninstall it. The program will 
demonstrate it to you first hand.

Now I am trying to recover more than 30k files from more than 3k folders 
(mainly family and personal photos as well as business files and photos), and 
many hundreds are coming up corrupted and will not open.

Brushing this off as impossible is the height of irresponsibility.
