Martijn, thanks for coming back on this. Last week end I've performed a full 
upgrade of this server (freebsd upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3, and recompiliation of 
every ports installed). In the process, ES was upgraded, as was OpenJDK.

I'll wait and see if the problem comes back or not, and keep you posted.
