Dear Robert, your hope might mislead you - Elbing has changed about 90 or more percent of its German inhabitants in 1945 and thereafter, even if they had Polish names as LACHOWSKI. You would have difficulties to find any relatives in Elblag nowadays. Besides I doubt if they made / make address books in Poland nowadays; the making of address books followed economical ideas and demands before WW II, nowadays they are rare even in the "Western Capitalist World". Anyway I will ask a friend of mine who has good knowledge and connections to old Elbing and modern Elblag as well. (Which does not grant that any Lachowski found in his sources will be found in his "archive" - those old Elbingians who had to leave Elbing (or later Elblag) dy out - our neighbor Willamowski was from East Prussia (Elbing was in West Prussia) - she died some 18 years ago, followed her husband who had died 5 years before.
