hey thanks! my ancestors actually came from the village of lichtfelds kreis stuhm (present day sztum), which is in the elblag area. there are apparently no lachowski's living in sztum at this time. also, many family stories have been passed down through the generations, including one that one of the lachowski immigrants took care of the kaiser's vineyard (william, king of prussia), and that his children played with the kaiser's children. robert
