I am searching for my oldest ancestor that I know of Franz Balkevitsch
(Balkewicz or Balkewiecz originally).
He left Prussia sometime during 1840th as a young military musician
for Finland where he stayed and my grandfather Kommissar Alfred
Balkevitsch was born.
I would like to know if this name is still in northern Poland. He must
have had a mother and a father and other siblings. I would like to
know if they also had a military or musical profession etc.
