Ok. Then there may be closer connections, although I can't establish them for now. Apart from my ancestral line, the youngest generations are no younger than uptil approx. 1860. BTW I made a mistake in regard to the birth place and year of Otto Kretschmann. According to the article he was born in 1861 in Wengeln (I presume the Wengeln in East- Prussia, not Silezia). The mistake is caused by the fact that, during my research in the civil archives of Gdansk, I came across a family card mentioning the name Otto Kretschmann, born ar. 1860 in Mehlsack. I then immediately presumed it concerned Otto, der Zauberer, an assumption now proved to be wrong:). Sincerely, Milko Kretschmann. > >> >> Hello/Hallo Egbert, >> >> As a Kretschmann with ancestors from Elbing I - needless to say - >> more than welcome you to the group :). >> I take the opportunity to tell you my story in short: >> My great great grandfather Emil Franz Kretschmann was born 1856 in >> Elbing.
