Hi Judith, Charlotte Schikowski was born in Jaeskendorff (Kreis Mohringen). According to the marriage record she was Evangelian (or Lutheran if you will). It is said that she was half-jewish but it is unclear to me from what side so I don't know for what name to look. But it just may be Schikowsi. She won't of course not appear in the birth records but maybe there is some kind of reference to her or (the jewish part of her) family.
The name Kretschmann - which she adopted when marrying my ggg-grandfather Johann Gottlieb Kretschmann - has nothing do with it. Sincerely, Milko.
