Thanks,
I now understand how the K2 react when tuning. But, I was suspecting
something, because I found that my power output seems to be more lower
that is suppose to be. Correct me if i'm wrong, but when I test the
output power, U use the DL1 dummy load, I set my K2, for example at
10W, and push the tune button. While I have my DMM meter set to DC
connected to the two tips on my dummy load, I read the vDC. After I
calculate V * V / 50 omhs, I also check that the dummy load I built is
effectively 50 ohm.
And the result are really lower that is suppose to be. Am I doing
something wrong, I guess ? ;-)
Thanks for your patience....

In alignment section 3, on page 75, the first step of the 40m
alignment, I can experiment something strange. Ajusting my power at
2W like in manual, when I press the "TUNE" button and adjust L1 and
L2 for there maximum watt peak, I can see that after the ajusment, if
I press "TUNE" butto to test the alignment a few times, I can see
that the watt meter do not indicate always the same value each
time.... sometimes 1.9, sometimes 3.0...
Am I missing something ???
When you are in TUNE mode, the ALC does not activate. Therefore, while
you are adjusting the various controls you CAN obtain more power
output than the POWER setting is set for... for instance, if you have
the POWER control set to 2W and you are adjusting the capacitors or
inductors for max. power output, you may be able to obtain 3-4 W
output. BUT, when you exit the TUNE mode and then go back to TUNE
again, the ALC should then limit the power to 2W unless you make
another adjustment to the C or L.
This is normal action for the K2. In fact, when you are adjusting C
and L for max. output, if you find that you are getting much higher
power than you want to get at that point, just exit TUNE and re-enter
it and the power will again be back at a lower value. Wen you exit
TUNE and operate normally, the ALC will control max. power output
based upon the POWER level you have selected.
