Mine did the same.... toroid side seems to scratch the wire because too many turns to do.... if it's not too scratch.... I put red finger nails paint on the small part of coating that is missing... the same red ;-) and it works...

Does it matter? Am I messing up the lines of force in my inductive magnetic field or do I just rewind "to be safe."

(Tried to search the archives, but man, the usual toroid tining topic has created so much noise...)
