Larry,
You will be able to service all parts of a K2/100 from the top of the
cct. boards.
You will not miss your TS-850S, believe me, I too have one and only keep
it to receive general coverage.
I have two K2's, Hi power and low power versions, would'nt use anything
else, they are absolutely the very best transceivers I've ever used. I
am a phone man, not the usual CW type you will run into using a K2. For
DXing I seldom have to call twice even in a pileup to work the DX station.
Go for it, you won't be sorry!
