While playing with the K2 during SS I took advantage of the Fast Play mode and found it fantastic for repeats etc. I kept thinking...wow..if this had a button to press that would send a QSO # in CW and increment the number for the next keypress I could do a quick <hit but 1> <hit but 2> and have the full SS exchange sent.
While I'm asking for the sky it would be great to have 2 buttons...one that sends the QSO # and then increments it and another that sends the previous QSO # for repeats. You would send the exchange using the "QSO # and increment it" button and if the other station asks for a repeat you hit the "previous QSO #" button. Like I say in the subject...this is a rediculous thing to ask Wayne and Eric to come up with since it is so limited an appeal but, man oh man, would a stand-alone K2 become nearly robotic in contests! I realize that most contesters key the rig using their computer logging software but I'm thinking about when I have the K2 up at the cabin with no computer around and just a paper and pencil for logging.
