I have always been impressed with my KX1 but now I am really impressed! I
took the top cover off while leaving the bottom one still attached and
batteries installed today because I was looking for a bad solder connection
that causes some noise in the speaker when the buttons are touched or when
the rig is moved. You get a whole new prospective this way. It looks a lot
like a Rubik's cube. I can only imagine what Elecraft went through
designing this baby. Give it a try. The next time you dismantle it, take
the top cover off first and look inside. Amazing!
