Yes, it's a possibility, though VOX is quite tricky to get right, especially if you change modes often. Also, in the case of my rig (IC-736 for digimodes, I'm only rich enough for a KX1 ;-) VOX does not work in the ACC connector and the MIC has an amp that makes it not really ideal for digimodes. Have no clue as to how the K2 mic input behaves, in this respect.
