Sorry, but this is not correct - Omnirig is a rig-control program that VE3NEA uses in all situations where it is his software needs to be able to control a transceiver's frequency. You need other hardware or software (such as LP-Bridge) to enable more than one program to talk to your radio's RS-232 port. There is a freeware solution (VSPE by Eterlogic) that some people have reported to work satisfactorily with Skimmer and various logging programs. Some Microham interfaces have hardware/firmware permitting assignment of two virtual serial ports to each radio - I had an MK2R+ and it seemed to work very well.
