I agree with you, Karl.

I have been trying to figure out why someone would want a
700Hz filter myself.

When I want to tune CW "casually", I use my 8 pole 1.8 SSB
filters in the main and sub and tighten the DSP to around
700-800Hz.  Good dual use filter for me, very versatile!  

Although I have been wrong before, it seems too "single
purpose" to me, but then different strokes for different
folks...
