I have made an adapter cable to go between my forthcoming K3 and my
Yaesu MD-100A8X desk mic.  I opted to not connect the K3's 8V pin to the
'100's 5V pin as I don't use the active filtering in the microphone
anyway.  As PTT and the UP/Down buttons in the '100 place a ground on
their respective pins, I think proper configuration of the K3 will allow
things to "just work".  In the mean time, I made up a new cable and did
not modify the stock mic cable that works with several Yaesu rigs.
