Bill,

Please explain what you mean by "with kat100 fitted".  The KAT100 is an 
external option in its own enclosure and connects the the K2 (or KPA100) 
AUX I/O connector via a cable.  The receive (and transmit) path between 
the K2 and the KAT100 is through a coaxial cable.

Once you explain your entire setup for each K2, then perhaps I can help, 
but right now I am confused about what you have.
Also, does the K2 work without the KAT100?  Do you have the KPA100 
installed in each K2?  If not, do you have the KIO2 installed?
Or rather, do you mean the KAT2 which is a 20 watt tuner that installs 
in the QRP top cover of the K2?
