Bill, Please explain what you mean by "with kat100 fitted". The KAT100 is an external option in its own enclosure and connects the the K2 (or KPA100) AUX I/O connector via a cable. The receive (and transmit) path between the K2 and the KAT100 is through a coaxial cable.
Once you explain your entire setup for each K2, then perhaps I can help, but right now I am confused about what you have. Also, does the K2 work without the KAT100? Do you have the KPA100 installed in each K2? If not, do you have the KIO2 installed?
