Be cautious with the “Swing Arm Magnifiers” (or even visor magnifiers)!

I build a lot of proto-types, so I am not only soldering, but also doing a
board layout (as well as possible) at the same time (on the fly). This makes
for a lot of concentration and ‘focus’ (HiHi)!

As my eyesight gets poorer (and older -- life begins at 40 my ass!) I find
that the instantaneous puff of rosin smoke at each solder pad connection makes
my eyes instantaneously re-focus. This repeated and magnified change of eye
focus can give you some awful and whopping head aches!

I have best mitigated this problem by controlling the speed and direction of
a ventilating fan. This way, I’m not breathing lead and solder fumes, and I
can minimize the puff of smoke eye focus problem!

PS
For the chap in Fresno -- visit M2 Antennas! You can get some good VHF beams
and other hardware, when you get your transverters!
