I found a similar problem and would like to add my "2 cents" for a future firmware update.
Currently the Mic+Lin (Menu) setting is either on or off. I would like to see an additional option that mutes the Lin In audio, when audio is picked up on the Mic Input. This would prevent audio feedback from getting into the TX signal (and Monitor audio)from the Lin-In when using the Mic to transmit. To date, no one has said that this "noise audio" is being transmitted on my signal. I do find that when recording a message in the K3 DVK, the audio from Lin In will bleed over into the recorded message.
