I wear the version that clips onto your glasses, so a lot depends on how
your glasses fit. If they tend to flop around on your head, then adding some
extra weight out front isn't going to help. They work fine for me.

Depending on what I'm looking at I can alternate between looking over the
top of the glasses and through the magnifiers, or alternate between looking
through the magnifiers and "under" the magnifier (but still through the
glasses). I don't find myself taking them off or sliding them around at all,
but again it depends on how badly you need your glasses.
