George, The back up rig here is an Icom 746Pro that I had also purchased the SP-20. The speaker has twin inputs, so one from the K3/100 & one from the 746Pro.
I can't really attest to the SSB quality, as I never use that mode. But, the sound quality for CW when using the K3 is fantastic. It has 4 selectable audio filters.
