You made me go listen again Bob. You are right, at about 29 seconds he says "same speakers" and I too would assume he meant both radios were feeding the same speakers. The first time I was concentrating on the radio sounds, not the comments.
In fact, looking and listening closely I see I got lost in the back-and-forth comparison and in a few places it was the FT that sounded "echoey", probably due to the enhanced bass response.
