Pete - Even though you're older than me, I can one-up you by saying I used the Internet (Usenet) in the mid-70s while in college and well as from home in the 80s with a UUCP emulator on my Commodore 64 :.)
Yes, I do prefer postings with name/callsign. I believe it should be a list requirement, if it already isn't. On a related note, I find it interesting (and perplexing) that the prolific, knowledgeable poster known as "The Smiths" has gone quiet since someone posted his name and callsign.
