I want to thank those of you who responded to my problem, and in particular Don (W3FPR) who once again demonstrated his knowledge of the K2 and his willingness to generously share his time and talent. The problem was in the secondary menu. The D19 parameter was "y" and since no K60XV is installed in this K2 the parameter has to be set to "n." Once I changed the parameter to "n" for D19 the radio came to life on 40 meters. I do not know how the parameter might have been changed, but all is well now. I never would have discovered this error without Don's input. Maybe others might benefit from this experience. Thank you all.
