What else is connected to the 12 volt jack on the K3?.  It should handle 
the P3 and the PR6, but no more.

The K3 turns off because the re-settable fuse has opened.

If you have only the P3 connected to that jack, measure the current into 
the K3 during receive if you can, and also measure the current draw of 
the P3, then contact support with that information - they should be able 
to help.

You could power the P3 directly from the power supply if this continues 
to be a problem.
