The thing I find inconvenient with the K3's power switching is that it makes remote operation awkward. I hate to leave the radio on when I go away for a few days and want to operate remotely. When I do want to operate that way, I use my Yaesu Mark-V and an AC power controller accessible by computer (USB) and/or telephone link. Simple codes entered via either route connection from the turn the radio on or off. (And, yes, the computer can be controlled in the same way using the telephone link.) Wish I could do this with the K3. --Jeff, K6JW
