Mike, KD9KC, found some "9.8Ah" Li-Ion batteries on eBay, for Buy It Now price of $38. We both bought one. It turns out you get about 7.5Ah before the voltage hits the low cutoff on my K2 and his FT-817, but that works out to about 10-14 hrs of "semi-contest" operating time. They came without instructions and all the printing on them is in Chinese [tried for a translation at the local Sechuan restaurant ... not so good], but they came with a wall-wart charger. Rose built my case to hold it in a side pocket, it weighs about 14oz. I can send you a photo if you would like.
