Hello all, New K3 build 5068 on the bench, trying to get it working with my Macbook Air. I spent the bulk of the afternoon trying to get this working before asking for help on the list, couldn't find anything on the Elecraft reflector or on the Internet which was directly helpful.
Could someone contact me directly email and help walk me through getting this working, [email protected]. I would much appreciate it. Here are the "working conditions": Rig Elecraft K3 Computer Apple Macbook Air - two USB ports Interface USB to 9Pin adaptor from Elecraft Have tried both the OEM and Elecraft download software from the Elecraft site in an attempt to get this working with the Elecraft K3 Utility. Software Elecraft K3 Utility Problem The Elecraft K3 Utility does not recognize the Serial Port, and I am confused as to exactly set it up. The adaptor is installed, the software installed, but no option of a serial port shows up in the Elecraft K3 Utility. The USB/9Pin adaptor shows up in the Mac System Profiler, see below FT232R USB UART: Product ID: 0x6001 Vendor ID: 0x0403 (Future Technology Devices International Limited) Version: 6.00 Serial Number: A8003Tz4 Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec Manufacturer: FTDI Location ID: 0x04100000 Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 90 Assistance Needed I need to understand how to make the K3 Utility recognize and use the port reference above so I can control and update the K3 firmware.
