I only did this once, and yes, I noticed more spurious signals. You don't have to disassemble much to align the filters. Just enough to take the top off and flip it over beside the rest of the unit. And this isn't something you need to do frequently -- and usually then only because you did something else to the K2/100, in which case you'll have the top off anyway....
