Hi Lee,

You'll definitely want to read a book or two on PIC coding, and you  
should carefully read the data sheet for your selected part(s). But if  
you get stuck, let me know. I've been writing code for PICs for many  
years, including the firmware for all Elecraft transceivers, and I can  
probably give you a little push in the right direction.

I'd also suggest you sign up for the Microchip user forum. Members of  
this group are pretty civilized and usually give good advice.

One final tip: If you see an error message pop up during use of any  
PIC development tool, just put it in quotes into a Google search. You  
won't be the first one to have seen it. This is often the quickest way  
to solve a problem with tools such as MPLAB, compilers, etc.
