I have used the Pelican 1510, but I had to remove the K3 handle, and even then only had 1/2" to spare - a snug fit with a little token foam. I certainly wouldn't ship it that way as checked baggage. The 1510 does have room for a p/s, headset, etc., in the long dimension. I carried it onto the big airplanes (tnx goodness for the wheels), but I had to give it to baggage handlers for one short leg on a Twin Otter. Otherwise, I would have used my Rose case, which is a much better choice if you are able to carry it on every flight, IMHO.
