It depends a lot on what you are going to use it for! I have both (well all 3 - K-1, KX-1 and K-2). For performance you cannot beat the K-2 of course. Between the K-1 and KX-1 I do like the no drift synthesizer of the KX-1 and its variable selectivity. The speaker on the K-1 is nice, as is the capability for 80 M.
