It was a tough choice, but here's basically what made me pick the K1: 1. More traditional look. 2. I day pack and tent camp, so the K1 size was not a factor. 3. A little more power. 4. Larger size meant more features with their own buttons instead of buried in menu layers. 5. The K1 is about as compact as I care to have a radio and still want to work on it. 6. It works well as a second radio next to the K2.
Notice there is really nothing about differences in performance. On paper, the differences didn't have anything to do with my decision. The radios seem to perform nearly the same. Flip a coin. No matter which one you buy, there will be times when you will say, gee, I wish I had bought the other one and other times when you are happy you made the decision you did. Or buy both. Maybe some day... Eric KE6US -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of David F. What makes it that for you? Anyone that has had both care to comment? Just one? Bought when both were available? Reasons? many thanks for indulging this request. -Dave- -- David F.
