I just looked at a K2 RF Board and it leads me to think you are trying to place C45 in the wrong spot - there are only 2 holes where C45 is to be inserted - the position is to the rear of the board from the 'C45' label and right next to the relay.
Yes, spread the legs of the small capacitor to fit the hole spacing.
