Doug, There are two opportunities here. One is your goal of solder practice. The other is to find a suitable piece of electronics to take apart to get the circuit board on which the soldering practice can take place. The experience of taking something apart for the sake of understanding what is inside is worth the effort. It is more enjoyable because you know it does not have to be put back together.
